Morningstar Interiors is Springfield, Missouri’s only black-owned interior design studio. As a brand new residential interior design studio, our story is just beginning, and while it’s difficult to articulate our full journey at this early stage, our vision for the future is clear and inspiring.
A Dream Come True
Morningstar Interiors is the realization of a lifelong dream. Our head designer, Braylon, has been passionate about design since childhood. His love for decorating the family Christmas tree was so strong that he wouldn’t let anyone else touch it. Braylon also spent countless hours reconfiguring and changing the layout of his room, showcasing his early talent for design and spatial harmony.
Specializing in Art Deco
Although we specialize in the timeless elegance of Art Deco, we are a full-service interior design studio ready to tackle any design project. Our expertise includes kitchen design, color consultation, and lighting design. By focusing on these key areas, we ensure that each space is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, bringing our clients’ visions to life.

Morningstar Interiors is committed to “light bringing design.” This philosophy goes beyond simply illuminating spaces; it embodies our dedication to being a source of hope and positivity in our clients’ lives. Rooted in Braylon’s Christian faith, our goal is to be a guiding light from the beginning of each project, through its completion, and beyond.
A Vision for the Future
Our vision extends beyond beautiful interiors. One of our future goals is to establish a scholarship fund specifically for BIPOC individuals pursuing post-secondary education in architecture or interior design. This initiative aims to nurture and support the next generation of creative minds, ensuring diversity and inclusion within the industry.
